‘Conte is clearly frustrated’ – Michael Owen shares his Spurs v Everton score prediction

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Everton.

Last time out, Owen incorrectly predicted in his BetVictor column that Spurs would lose 2-1 at Leeds United, when in fact the north Londoners ran out comfortable 4-0 winners.

The Toffees, who are now under the leadership of Frank Lampard arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday evening looking to move away from the relegation zone, while the home side need all three points to keep their hopes of a top four finish alive.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte revealed at yesterday’s press conference that it was a good time to face Everton given the ample preparation time they have had ahead of the match and will also have the luxury of for upcoming Premier League matches after they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough (Football.London).

Owen believes that it will be a case of honours even come Monday, with both teams playing out a score draw in what would be a case of two points dropped for both managers.

He told BetVictor: “I don’t know what’s going on at Spurs, this must be the most inconsistent side in the world! They look so dangerous at times going forward and yet fail to score against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup. Conte is clearly frustrated; this will be an interesting few weeks.

“Everton showed an improved defensive shape against City last week, can they do that every week though? They need every point they can get right now, they’re firmly in this relegation race.

“I think Everton can get a point here. I certainly don’t see this being a classic, 1-1.”

Anything less than a win would be a disaster for Tottenham and they drastically need a vastly improved performance to improve the morale of the fans after what they witnessed at Middlesbrough in midweek. The inconsistency of results has to stop, and it has to stop now if we are to gatecrash the top four.
