Conte provides ‘good news’ on when Oliver Skipp will return from injury for Spurs

Antonio Conte has revealed that Oliver Skipp will start running again tomorrow as he works his way back from another injury.

The Tottenham head coach was also keen to insist that the midfielder will return in time for the upcoming congested fixture schedule, with a lot of games to be crammed in before the World Cup break.

This comes after Football London’s Alasdair Gold reported earlier this week that Skipp was due to begin outdoor work in the next few days, now seemingly confirmed by Conte.

Skipp has been out for the last few weeks after suffering a nasty cut on his foot which needed stitches when a teammate landed on him following an aerial duel.

The Spurs academy graduate hasn’t had much luck with injuries over the past six months, missing the second half of last season with a persistent pelvic problem.

Conte said (Football London): “Good news for Skipp. After tomorrow he’s going to run again. I hope for this player to be a bit lucky because since January he started to have a problem. We’ll have him available when we have a lot of games to play.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

You can tell that Conte really rates Skipp as a player, just like Mourinho and Pochettino did. He has a big future at Spurs and I wouldn’t bet against him overthrowing some of the likes of Hojbjerg, Bentancur, and Bissouma to become a regular first-choice.
