Conte provides injury update on Spurs duo – One could be fit for FA Cup match

Antonio Conte has given an update on the injury status of two Tottenham players, Steven Bergwijn and Ryan Sessegnon (Jonathan Veal).

The Spurs head coach revealed that he would have to wait a little longer before knowing the true extent of Bergwijn’s injury and when he could return.

However, he added that Sessegnon could be back as early as this weekend for the FA Cup match against Morecambe.

This seems to indicate that neither will be available for the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Chelsea on Wednesday as Conte looks to take a step towards his first final as Tottenham boss.

After the return of Giovani Lo Celso against Watford at the weekend, Cristian Romero remains the only other Tottenham player out injured.

Premier Injuries predict that the Argentine could return to the squad on January 16th against Arsenal, while the same prediction is given for Steven Bergwijn.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Having Sessegnon back would be a huge boost for the busy fixture period as Sergio Reguilon is both out of form and having to play pretty much every game. Bergwijn returning would also be a boost to the front line for Tottenham.
