Conte provides positive injury update on three Spurs stars – Including Perisic

Antonio Conte has provided a positive injury update on Ivan Perisic, Dejan Kulusevski, and Ben Davies following Tottenham’s first pre-season match of the summer (Football London).

All three players travelled with the Tottenham squad to South Korea for the pre-season tour, but none took part in the opening match against Team K-League today.

Perisic was carrying an injury when Spurs signed him on a free transfer this summer, while Kulusevski stopped training this week with a minor calf problem (Football London).

However, Conte has now revealed that Kulusevski and Davies both took part in a ‘good training session’ on the pitch before the game today, even if they couldn’t feature in the match itself.

He also added that Perisic is recovering well and could take part in training tomorrow, before joining in more once the players get back to London.

Conte said (Football London): “Kulusevski and Davies. You saw they had a good training session on the pitch. For Ben it was the second training session. He needed to revcover and run and do the same training as the others. The same for Kulusevski.

“Perisic is working very well. I think tomorrow we could have part of the training session with us. We are very satisfied because his recovery is going very fast and back in London he will be able to join in more.”

This comes after the news broke that Yves Bissouma and Fraser Forster had both tested positive for COVID-19 and were isolating (Charlie Eccleshare).

Spurs Web Opinion:

It sounds like there are no major injury issues in the Tottenham squad at the moment, with everyone either back or close to a return. That is really important heading into the new season with so many pre-World Cup games to play.
