Conte reacts to Lucas and Emerson Royal performances against Crystal Palace

Antonio Conte was left impressed by Lucas Moura and Emerson Royal today, with the two Brazilian’s linking up for Spurs’ second goal.

Tottenham managed to put three past Crystal Palace without reply this afternoon, with goals coming from Harry Kane, Lucas Moura, and Heung-min Son.

While Palace started the match well, as soon as Spurs hit them on the break for the Kane opener, Conte’s side purred into a period of dominance.

This was only exasperated by the strange red card for Wilfried Zaha, who picked up two needless yellows in the first 45 to make Tottenham’s task all the easier.

Spurs have now risen to fifth in the Premier League with two or three games in hand on every single team ahead of them, following a number of December postponements.

Conte claimed the Brazilian connection on the right-hand side could be good for the whole team, while also hinting Emerson has a lot of room to grow.

He told Football London: “We are talking about two Brazilian players, and being the same nationality could help.

“They have a good link and connection, Emerson has big space for improvement, he is very young and has to continue to work. On his side to have Moura and this connection could be good for the whole team.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Both of these guys have stepped up in a big way under Conte, especially Lucas. He is running the show in that number ten role now, while Emerson is improving by the week at right-wing-back.
