Conte reveals new Spurs signing will make full debut in ‘the next games’

Antonio Conte has revealed that Richarlison will make his full Tottenham debut in the ‘next games’ as fixtures start to arrive thick and fast for the Lilywhites.

Richarlison has been a regular off the bench over the past few weeks, often handed 20-30 minutes to influence a game rather than earning a place in the starting line-up.

Against Nottingham Forest this weekend, the Brazilain replaced Heung-min Son deep into the second half, a substitution which had the desired effect just seven minutes later when Richarlison assisted Kane’s second with a perfect outside-the-boot cross.

Having been a regular starter for Everton last season and with the World Cup on the horizon, Richarlison will want to start earning his place in the Tottenham XI.

So far, the only new Spurs signing to achieve that has been Ivan Perisic, with the likes of Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence, and Yves Bissouma having to make do with places on the bench.

Conte has now revealed that a start is not far away for Richarlison (Football London): “Now every time he’s playing, for 20-30 mins, playing very well. For sure in the next games you will see him in the starting 11.

“I think about Richy we are really happy. We are talking about a player who can help us a lot, we are talking about a player who is really good addition, especially up front.

“In the past at Tottenham didn’t have player of this level behind Harry, behind Sonny. Now we have a really good player and in the best moment in career to stay at Tottenham and show his talent.”

However, Conte reportedly clarified that Richarlison would not necessarily start against West Ham (Jack Pitt-Brooke).

Spurs Web Opinion:

I fully expect Conte to rotate in a very similar fashion to how Klopp did last season at Liverpool. Kane will serve as the Salah figure who starts the vast majority but is rested every now and then. Then Kulusevski, Richarlison, and Son (like Mane, Dias, and Jota) will rotate depending on fitness, form, and injury.
