Conte reveals the one quality that makes Richarlison so dangerous

Antonio Conte has revealed that Richarlison’s lack of fear is what makes the forward so difficult to play against.

Richarlison has made a promising start to life at Tottenham since his big-money switch from Everton in the summer, having already notched up four goal contributions so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The 25-year-old also shone for Brazil during the international break, netting three goals and registering an assist over their two matches against Ghana and Tunisia.

With Dejan Kulusevski out with an injury, Richarlison was given the nod to start by Conte on Saturday in what was his first North London derby.

The striker put in a typically energetic display, winning the penalty that led to Tottenham’s equaliser in the second half, with the Lilywhites eventually falling to their first defeat of the Premier League season after Emerson Royal was sent off just after the hour mark.

Ahead of the clash at the Emirates, Conte spoke in glowing terms of Richarlison and how he makes it extremely difficult for the opponents he comes up against.

The Italian told Football.London: “Yeah but you talking are about a player … he has no fear. He is a player that in every moment, also during the training sessions, he shows great commitment but for sure the first thing that I see in him is that he has no fear.

“He is not scared about nobody. Not about the atmosphere, about the noise. He is really strong. Into the pitch also with the opponent … it’s difficult to play against him, because he has no fear.”

Richarlison is a typical Conte kind of player, given his engine and aggression. So, it is not surprising that the Italian has taken to him. The fact that Conte has left out the likes of Son and Kulusevski from the starting lineup for the Brazilian, shows how highly the Spurs boss rates the forward.
