Conte reveals two Tottenham players have tested positive for COVID-19

Antonio Conte has revealed that both Yves Bissoume and Fraser Forster have tested positive for COVID-19 and are now isolating (Charlie Eccleshare).

Both players were included in Conte’s pre-season squad for the tour of South Korea, however, they missed the first match against Team K-League today and it remains to be seen how much of a part they will be able to play in future matches.

Football.London reported before the match today that Bissouma and Forster would not be involved due to illness, which has now been revealed as COVID.

Fraser Forster was signed on a free transfer after his contract with Southampton came to an end this summer, replacing Pierluigi Gollini as Hugo Lloris’ understudy for the season. Meanwhile, Yves Bissouma was signed from Brighton as a standout box-to-box midfielder.

Tottenham are next in action on Saturday when they take on Sevilla, with Bissouma and Forster still waiting to make their Spurs debuts.

Spurs Web Opinion:

That is a huge blow for Conte and his pre-season training plans, as Yves Bissouma in particular may not be at the desired fitness levels by the end of the tour. However, Conte will just be hoping the virus does not spread further.
