With Thomas Tuchel now on the verge of becoming Bayern Munich’s next head coach, some contradictory reports have emerged over the last few hours on how close the German actually was to potentially taking over at Tottenham Hotspur.
Over the last 24 hours, it has emerged that Tuchel is now set to take over as Bayern’s next head coach after the Bundesliga giants were said to have parted ways with Julian Naglesmann (Fabrizio Romano).
The Evening Standard reported on Thursday that Bayern’s impending appointment of Tuchel came as a blow to Spurs, who were considering the German as Antonio Conte’s potential replacement.
This has now been backed up by Kicker journalist, Georg Hozlner, who took to Twitter to claim that the former Chelsea boss was in ‘very close talks’ with Tottenham over recent days and ‘could well imagine the project’ at N17 before the current Bundesliga champions came calling.
#fcbayern ❗️❗️❗️

However, this information has been rejected by the Evening Standard’s Nizaar Kinsella, who has suggested that although the Lilywhites held a ‘loose contingency interest’ in Tuchel, the 49-year-old never had any concrete talks with the North London club.
Thomas Tuchel is expected to return to management at Bayern Munich, replacing Julian Nagelsmann. I'm told he didn't speak to Tottenham in the wake of the Antonio Conte implosion, despite loose contingency interest. More on @standardsport soon.

Spurs Web Opinion
I was personally dreading the prospect of Spurs appointing Tuchel as he was a bit too similar to Conte, in terms of his personality and tactics, for my liking. So, I am quite happy with how things have turned out as I believe that Julian Naglesmann would be the perfect fit for us.
