Contradictory reports emerge regarding Luis Campos’ future

There has been growing speculation over Lille sporting director Luis Campos’ future after it was reported in the French media that he had asked to leave the Ligue 1 side following disagreements over the club’s recent strategic decisions (RMC SPORT).

Tottenham have been linked previously with a move Campos, who has previously worked with Jose Mourinho following their time together at Real Madrid (Sky Sports).

A report from Canal + along with Portuguese publication RTP had suggested that the Portuguese was Spurs bound.

However, there have been other reports that have contradicted the claim that the Lille man is on his way to North London.

The Telegraph journalist, Jason Burt has said that that there is no deal in place for Campos to join Mourinho at Spurs.

Meanwhile, a return to Monaco could be in the cards for Campos according to Foot Mercato, who claim that the Ligue 1 club could hijack Spurs’ interest and take him back to Stade Louis II.

The only thing all the reports seem to agree on is that Campos is on his way out of Lille. It looks like Spurs might still have some work to do to get their man.

Spurs Web Opinion

Campos relationship with Jose Mourinho is well known and so I expect the Spurs boss to be on the phone trying to convince his friend to join him at Spurs. Given how fondly Campos has spoken about Mourinho in the past, I believe we are favourites to land him.
