‘Could be some kind of swap’ – Journalist reveals Everton interest in Spurs defender

Alex Crook has revealed Tottenham defender Joe Rodon is on Everton’s radar this summer, alongside Harry Winks.

Both clubs have been engaged in deep conversation recently with Tottenham continuing to show interest in Richarlison.

Sky Sports revealed Antonio Conte’s side have targeted the Brazil international and his teammate, Anthony Gordon, as part of a ‘package deal’, while The Sun claimed Spurs have readied an offer worth £100 million to the Toffees.

Everton have apparently taken note of Spurs midfielder Harry Winks (Liverpool Echo), but Crook has now claimed out-of-favour defender Rodon is also on their radar.

He told talkSPORT: “We know that Frank Lampard is keen on at least one Tottenham player in Harry Winks, maybe two. I’m told Joe Rodon is also on Frank Lampard’s shortlist so there could be some kind of swap deal.”

Rodon joined Tottenham from Championship side Swansea in 2020 but has struggled to make his mark during his time in the capital.

The Welshman, who is set to head to the World Cup this year, made just 10 appearances in all competitions last season and failed to earn a single Premier League start (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

Rodon has had a very tough time at Tottenham but he hasn’t really had a complete run of games to really show what he is about.

If Spurs receive a tempting enough offer for him, the likelihood is they will look to offload this summer and Everton could be a good destination for him.
