‘Couldn’t take the ball off him’ – Leicester midfielder praises former Spurs man

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has praised the ability of former Tottenham Hotspur man Mousa Dembele.

Tielemans appeared in an interview with the official Premier League’s YouTube channel and was asked to take different attributes from Belgian footballers to create his best team-mate.

When it came to the dribbling aspect, Tielemans named Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard but also singled out Dembele.

Dembele revealed earlier this month on Instagram that he will retire from professional football once his current contract expires at Guangzhou City.

Tielemans said: “You have a few but yeah for me it was Eden Hazard, but you have to mention Mousa Dembele as well, his dribbling was amazing, you just couldn’t take the ball off him,”

It was a huge shame that Dembele’s body could not keep up with the rigors of the Premier League, given the void he left in the Tottenham midfield when he departed for China.

His ability on the ball to create space, avoid being dispossessed and to drive forward at the opposition was second to none and arguably played his greatest game for the club in the away Champions League tie in Juventus.
