‘Cranking up the pressure’ – BBC pundit makes Fulham vs Spurs score prediction

Chris Sutton has backed Fulham to beat Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night and pile on the misery for Antonio Conte.

Tottenham have picked up just four points from a possible 15 on offer since the Premier League’s restart and are now at risk of completely falling away from the race for the Champions League spots.

There have even been suggestions over recent days that Conte’s future at the club is uncertain, with the Lilywhites said to be considering making a move for the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel (Daily Mail).

Things do not get easier for Spurs, who face another London derby at Craven Cottage on Monday night. Fulham have been in excellent form of late and a win for Marco Silva’s side will see them leapfrog Tottenham in the Premier League table.

Sutton believes that the Cottagers will take the attack to their London rivals and come away with all three points.

The former Celtic striker told BBC Sport: “Tottenham boss Antonio Conte said his side had to take more risks in the second half against Arsenal last weekend, when Spurs were behind and chasing the game.

“But the way Spurs have been starting so many games this season so badly, surely they need to take more risks from the off?

“Fulham will definitely be playing on the front foot. They were unlucky not to get anything against Newcastle last week, and they will go for it again here.

“I can see them beating Spurs, and cranking up the pressure on Conte even more. Prediction: 2-1.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s away performances this season have left a lot to be desired and Fulham have been excellent at Craven Cottage. So, I fear that another defeat could be on the cards. Should we lose on Monday, it is difficult to see Conte coming back from that.
