‘Crazy’ – Journalist reveals huge boost for Spurs with Julian Nagelsmann update

Julian Nagelsmann is concentrating on the head coach vacancy at Tottenham Hotspur after withdrawing from the Chelsea recruitment process, according to German journalist Christian Falk on Twitter.

Multiple publications had indicated over the last couple of weeks that Nagelsmann was the top target for both Spurs and Chelsea (Football Insider).

However, it emerged on Thursday that the recently departed Bayern Munich boss had decided against replacing Graham Potter at Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano took to social media yesterday to reveal that Nagelsmann had multiple rounds of talks with the Blues but has now made a ‘final decision’ that he would not be taking over at Stamford Bridge.

Telegraph journalist Matt Law had now claimed yesterday that Nagelsmann’s decision to withdraw himself from the running for the Chelsea job, does not mean that the German is now a realistic target for Tottenham.

Some Spurs fans would have been hoping that his availability would allow the North London club to have a free run at the 35-year-old over the coming weeks.

Falk has now given hope to the prospect of a Nagelsmann arrival in N17 is still a possibility, despite Law having poured cold water on the situation yesterday.

The fact that Naglesmann had multiple rounds of talks with Chelsea and withdrew certainly gave optimism to some pockets of the Spurs fanbase.

Falk’s update this morning is a positive one given his connections within the German media and could see Tottenham look to move forward with an appointment which would certainly soften the blow of Mauricio Pochettino heading to Chelsea.
