‘Credit to him’ – Postecoglou has immense respect for fellow PL manager

Ange Postecoglou is preparing to face Bournemouth at the weekend, and the Tottenham Hotspur manager has been full of praise for his opposite number, Andoni Iraola for how he has turned around fortunes at the South Coast club.

The two managers are both new to the Premier League this season, and both have been earning plaudits for the way they have got their respective teams playing.

Postecoglou has very quickly implemented his attacking, expansive style of play which has won the hearts of Spurs fans after a dismal campaign under Antonio Conte last season. The Lilywhites are currently in fifth place, and have a great shot at securing a top-four spot this season.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth endured a disappointing start to the season and now find themselves as one of the most in-form sides in the Premier League. With six wins and a draw in their last seven games, the Cherries have climbed to 12th place in the table ahead of the weekend’s game.

Postecoglou is a fan of Bournemouth boss Iraola

Postecoglou clearly respects the fact that Iraola is playing things his own way, and when speaking to the press today (via Football.London), the Spurs boss had nothing but nice things to say about his upcoming opponent.

He said: “He’s done a great job. They didn’t have a great start and it would have been very easy, not just him but the whole club, to shy away from what they were trying to build, but they’ve stuck at it, and the results recently have been very, very promising.

“It’s credit to him and the football club that they’ve stuck to what the plan’s been.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The form Bournemouth are in right now makes them a formidable opponent. Historically, we have done well against the Cherries, but I don’t think we’ve ever faced a Bournemouth side this strong. Spurs will have to be at their absolute best this weekend.
