Cristian Romero has responded to Pierluigi Gollini’s farewell post after the goalkeeper left Atalanta to join Tottenham Hotspur.
Gollini became the first player to arrive through the doors at Spurs this summer, with the North Londoners club snapping up the goalkeeper on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy him permanently for £12.9m.
Tottenham have also been reportedly locked in talks with Atalanta over the signing of Romero over recent days.
Football.London claimed on Saturday that Daniel Levy had given the green light for the deal for Romero to be completed, with the fee expected to be in the region of £38.4m.
However, sources from Italy have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have to ‘up the ante’ to sign Romero after Atalanta rejected the North London club’s latest offer of €50m (£42.8m) including bonuses for the defender.
It remains to be seen whether Romero will be joining Gollini at Spurs this summer but the centre-back is seemingly happy for the Italian.
Responding to the goalkeeper’s emotional farewell message on Instagram, the Argentine commented ‘Great Gollo’ and three heart emojis.

I am optimistic that Spurs will get a deal for Romero over the line as the 23-year-old clearly seems to be Paratici’s number one centre-back target.
