Cristian Romero reveals first season at Spurs has been ‘difficult’ but ‘beautiful’

Cristian Romero has taken to social media to admit he has enjoyed his first season at Tottenham Hotspur, although there have been some difficult challenges along the way.

It was not an easy start for Romero at Spurs following his big-money move from Atalanta last summer.

The team struggled for form at the start of the campaign, with Nuno Espirito Santo being sacked after just 10 Premier League games in charge of the club.

Romero then suffered a hamstring injury soon after Antonio Conte took charge, which kept him out of action for two and a half months (Trasfermarkt).

Since returning from his injury lay-off, the 24-year-old has hardly put a foot wrong and has formed a formidable partnership with the experienced Eric Dier and Ben Davies at the back for the Lilywhites.

Even though Romero missed the final three matches of the season with a hip injury, the former Atalanta man’s displays were crucial in helping Tottenham get back into the Champions League.

The centre-back took to social media to post a video complication of his season along with the following message to the fans:

Spurs Web Opinion

There is a lot for Spurs fans to be excited about with Romero, who is only going to improve as he gets more accustomed to the Premier League.

Apart from being an aggressive defender, he also seems to possess fantastic leadership qualities, which is why I see him potentially becoming a Spurs legend.
