Cristian Romero takes to social media to share positive Spurs fitness update

Cristian Romero has taken to social media to reveal that he is now back training with the Tottenham Hotspur squad.

Romero had a promising start to his Tottenham career following his move from Atalanta in the summer.

In the weeks immediately after Antonio Conte’s arrival at Spurs, the 23-year-old was the Italian’s preferred starter in the right-centre-back role.

However, he has not featured since injuring his hamstring while away on international duty with Argentina back in November.

Conte revealed earlier this week that the central defender was ‘very close’ to coming back after recovering from his injury.

It was unclear if Romero would have been ready to face Arsenal before the match was postponed, but the defender’s return would certainly be a boost to Conte given that Son Heung-min and Eric Dier still remain out of action.

Romero has now taken to social media to post a video of him training with his teammates at Hotspur Way, along with the caption: ‘I came back’.

In Dier’s absence, Romero’s return will certainly be a welcome boost for Conte as the Argentine has already shown in his short duration at the club that he is a leader at the back.
