Cristian Stellini has been talking about Tottenham Hotspur’s newest signing Arnaut Danjuma ahead of tomorrow’s match against Preston North End.

The 25-year-old became Tottenham’s first signing of the January transfer window, and had been expected to join Everton before Spurs made a late move to land him on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

Danjuma played an important role in Villarreal’s run to the Champions League semi-finals last season under Unai Emery, scoring 16 goals in all competitions for the La Liga club (transfermarkt).

The Dutch international is in line to make his debut tomorrow evening at Deepdale as Tottenham look to secure their place in the draw for the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Stellini, who was handling media duties at this afternoon’s press conference in place of Antonio Conte was asked about that Danjuma can bring to the Tottenham squad.  He told Football.London: “He has experience because he’s played good Champions League last season. He can play like a striker or a winger. A lot of positions he can cover. We are looking forward to working with him. It’s normal in January to have to give him all the information to play in our team. We are happy to have him.

When asked about his best position, the Italian added: “It depends on the system we use, right now as a number 10 or the striker. This is the way we want to work with him.”

With Harry Kane having struggled with illness this week, it would make sense to rest the talisman for the cup clash and instead go for a front three of Kulusevski, Richarlison and Heung-min Son while having Danjuma on the bench for a half hour cameo in the second half, should all go to plan.
