Spurs striker Peter Crouch has welcomed the signing of Friedel, who made it clear on Tuesday that he intends to dislodge Heurelho Gomes as the club’s first-choice stopper.
“He (Friedel) is up there with the top few goalkeepers in the Premier League so he will be a great addition,” Crouch said.
“I’m sure that the manager hasn’t finished there. He will be wanting to strengthen our side and make sure we are right up there next year.”
