Crouch: First of many

Peter Crouch - Header

Peter Crouch has expressed his delight at scoring his first Premier League goal at White Hart Lane.

The Tottenham striker had already scored in the Carling Cup last week, but opened his league tally with a header against Birmingham City.

“I was really pleased to score my first goal at White Hart Lane, it means a lot, but obviously a couple of minutes later and it all came crashing down because they equalised,” Crouch told the official Spurs site.

“That was disappointing but I always felt confident that we would win the game. We deserved it and it was a great winner from Aaron right at the end.

“Sometimes you have to dig in to win games and that was one of those games.

“I felt confident, I felt sharp, I got on the end of a few crosses and one was saved, one hit the crossbar, another was cleared off the line and finally the goal came. As long as I kept getting in there, I was confident that I would get one and hopefully that’s the first of many to come.”
