Peter Crouch insists there will be no room for sentiment when Tottenham take on Portsmouth in the FA Cup semi-final.

Crouch, Jermain Defoe and Niko Kranjcar could all face their former side at Wembley.

“I feel for Portsmouth, as it’s a great club and I loved my time there, but there is no sentiment,” said Crouch. “We want to get to the final and give the fans here something to cheer about.”

The striker lifted the trophy with Liverpool in 2006: “Winning it with Tottenham would probably be a bigger achievement.

“I also joined Portsmouth just after they won the FA Cup in 2008 and the whole place was buzzing. But they’ve had their turn and hopefully it’s ours now.

“I said at the start of the season that I wanted to join a club that were going places and I really believe Tottenham are. So far, I’ve been proved right.

“We’ll all look forward to a great occasion at Wembley but we need to do a job and make sure we get to the final.”

  1. I have no sentimental allegiance to Couch either….Hope he goes in the summer, complete Fkcni eye saw imo
Even with the desperate emergence of kind phrases such as; Decent touch for a big guy or JJ's box to box
of the ball input………….to me beggers belief. We were in the sh**** when we got him, which is the only way
hed make his way back to Spurs. Now where not, He is only a positive influence for the deffenders have a
light house to aim at. Jd cant slip him in cos he has no pace, no strenghth hardly any goals and only gets
on chances that he always fluffs. So please ….danny boy ???Get rid !!!!!

  2. What a nothing story. I would have been very surprised if he went on the record as saying otherwise. In any case, I really doubt he feels anything other than a glib sense of timing that he got paid before the good ship Pompey started to sink!

PS: Thanks twitchy for taking him, what a totally underwhelming player he is. PUP

  3. Crouch really is a useless shower of rancid liquid shit. Height is the only pro to this mug. Super Pavlyuchenko is a completely different class on all fronts and start every game before him. I would love a crack at his missus Abbie though…….. Jeebahs, you’d seriously have to dig me out of her with a fucking shovel.

  5. All are strikers have different attributes and Crouch has another good game for us. He is an England international and destined for the plane to SA… with clever players around him, his flicks and touches are great. He also offers a pannic-threat to oposition defenders, stops Stoke-long-throws, plays for the team and wears his heart on his sleave. We have an exciting run-in and need all our strikers to continue their form … COYS

As for you the morons who disrespect Crouchy, can only fathom that you are an ignorant pompey fans. Wanna meet for a pint on Satureday before the game? Feel for you, but don't slag off an ex-spurs player returning home…. middus and all.

  6. I love the team but I HATE a lot of my fellow Spurs fans. At least the one who constantly slag off their own players and manager, despite us being on course for our most successful season in decades.

Sugar was right when he referred to the fans as SCUM. There's plenty of good fans, but too many f***ing NEANDERTHALS.

  7. Funny it must be catching …cos I hate some of the fans now too. LOl Especially the ones who come on a blog and
despise others for having a point of view that disagrees with that of their own. F***** Communists

  8. Agree with mattyboy and SPURSSINCE82 I hate some spurs fans they play in the spurs shirt so get behind the whole team or do me a favour and go and support a different team don't want supporters like you supporting spurs

  9. This is one of tottenhams best seasons for years and crouchy has played the most games with wilson this season…. must be doing something right… he brings players into the game brilliantly…

  10. I agree with the top 3 comments, I went to the game against fulham on wednesday and some fans actually boo'd the team off. These aren't fans, we weren't playing badly, we had a huge injury list and were only 1 down. Then the game turned and they were all cheering: this is ridiculous, you support yor team no matter what

  11. Some of our fans talk complete and utter rubbish. I was at Fulham and was just dumb founded to hear the boo boys come out – honeslty we sounded like the Villa. This for a poor first half, the first for a long time and must have felt pretty stupid when they saw the second half transformation. As for Crouch, some must be watching a different player altogether. He wont ever be a prolific striker but he adds something different and works his socks off for the team in ways not appreciated. At Stoke the guy defended and shut out anything Delap hurled at the box. I would take that over anyone else – it is a team game and if Defoe, Pav or whoever bangs them in from his lay offs and knock downs – who would care. Least we forget where we were this time last year so for all those idiots who want to slagg off for some irrelevance, make a trip up the M1 to Villa Park and join all those other morons who have no idea about real football.
