Crouch reveals he shares same agent as Bale and what he has heard

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch has admitted that he would love to see Gareth Bale back at the club.

Crouch played alongside Bale during their time together at White Hart Lane including the Champions League campaign under Harry Redknapp which saw the club reach the quarter final in 2011.

Bale’s future at Real Madrid has been brought into question with manager Zinedine Zidane hinting that the Welshman’s future could lie away from the Santiago Bernabeu (Metro).

The Sun had reported that Tottenham had been offered the opportunity to bring Bale back to North London on a loan deal which would see them pay around £250,000-a-week towards his eye-watering £600,000-a-week salary along with a £10million fee.

Crouch revealed that he shares the same agent as Bale and had heard that the 29-year-old is keen to stay in Spain.

He is under contract with the current European champions until 2022 and it would seem highly unlikely that Daniel Levy would look to upset the current squad by paying Bale more than any other player.

Crouch wrote in The Daily Mail: “Gareth Bale’s position at Real Madrid continues to confuse me and the misuse of such a talented player is ridiculous.

“We share the same agent and, as far as I know, he is determined to stick it out in Spain. He is happy living there and wants to force his way back into the team, regardless of the speculation that continues to follow him.

“But if he is not going to be used regularly next season, I would love to see him return to Spurs. I saw reports earlier this week of him going back to the club on loan, with a £10million loan fee suggested.

“I know how Daniel Levy operates and that certainly wouldn’t be the kind of deal he’d like to do!”
