Cudicini thanks Daniel Levy

Carlo Cudicini has expressed his thanks to Tottenham for sticking by him after his accident.

The Italian goalkeeper was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident in November, fracturing both his wrists and his pelvis.

Carlo came on for the injured Heurelho Gomes at half time in the 4-0 Champions League win against Young Boys and admits that it was an emotional occasion.

Despite his Chelsea past, Spurs fans have taken well to Carlo and he could be set to start tomorrow’s game at the Lane if Gomes is still struggling.

“It was emotional to make my comeback, but not any more than that,” he told The Times.

“I felt sad for Gomes but for me it was nice to be selected.

“The accident and the injury are in the past. I would like to look forward now and enjoy what will be in the future.

“There are big things ahead here. Reaching the Champions League is a massive achievement.”

“I’m really grateful to the chairman (Daniel Levy) and the club,” he added.

“I’ve always believed that if you are an honest guy, you work hard and you do your job, that the rewards will come.

“I guess that is what has happened with Tottenham.”

  1. It is good to have Carlo at the Lane. He has a wealth of experience and not once thrown his toys out of the pram when he is sat on the bench. I am pleased he has made it back and hopefully he will have another achievement to his name at the end of this season. COYS!

  2. Carlo is a true gentlemen and a great stopper to be able to turn to when Gomes is hurt. I am delighted he got through what was an awful accident and we forgive him his years spent in the blue wilderness. He is a yid now and a valued one too. COYS

  3. Great to have such a quality goalkeeper back from such a bad accident. Like the way he dealt with the rasping low shot from the young boys towards the end never easy especially when the pressure is on and the pitch is as quick as it was. Well done great to have you back Carlo.
