Current Spurs player claims Pochettino will ‘go onto bigger and better things’

Ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss, Mauricio Pochettino, was always a big fan of Spurs left-back Ben Davies, and it appears that the feeling was mutual.

Tottenham took the decision to part ways with the Argentine manager yesterday evening after a disappointing start to the 2019/20 season.

While the announcement of Pochettino’s sacking occurred, Ben Davies was actually in action for Wales on international duty.

It must have been a bittersweet moment for the Welsh star has he walked into the dressing room after winning last night.

The 2-0 victory over Hungary meant that Wales had qualified for the Euros in 2020, before Davies then found out that his club manager had been sacked.

While Davies claimed that it was a pleasure to work under Pochettino at Tottenham over the years, he also added that the sacking came as a shock to him.

Perhaps rather controversially, as a current Spurs player, Davies said that Pochettino would go onto bigger and better things.
