Dani Ceballos’ impressive stats from Euro U-21’s makes him a worthy transfer target

Tottenham have been linked with a whole host of central midfielders in this summer’s transfer window, with reports indicating that the Argentine wants to get at least two central midfield players in this summer (Football.London).

Among the midfielders who have been linked with Tottenham is Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos (El Confidencial).

The 22-year-old found playing time hard to come by since Zinedine Zidane returned to the Bernabeu and has told Onda Cero that while he doesn’t want to be sold, he does want more game time.

It has been suggested that the Los Blancos might offer the midfielder as a part of their offer to sign Christian Eriksen (The Sun).

Despite the speculation surrounding his future, Ceballos has had a brilliant Euro U-21 campaign for Spain helping them to the title with a 2-1 win over Germany in the final.

The youngster has been one of the standout players of the tournament and the creativity he has provided from midfield has been crucial to Spain’s success.

Check out the stats that the 22-year-old has posted in the tournament:

While the Premier League would obviously be a massive step up in quality compared to the Euro U21 Championship, Ceballos stats indicate that is he is just the type of central midfielder that Pochettino likes – someone who likes to take people on and make something happen. It will be interesting to see if the club does end up bidding for the 22-year-old.
