Will Amanda Staveley invest in Tottenham Hotspur or not? That’s one of the biggest questions surrounding the club right now, and a new report has shed some light on her relationship with Daniel Levy, as well as how the club actually feels about these rumours.

Amanda Staveley and Daniel Levy are close
Since leaving Newcastle United behind in the summer, Amanda Staveley has reportedly been looking for a new football club to invest in, and Spurs are thought to be her prime target.
While it is difficult to ascertain what is going on behind the scenes and determine just how close any potential investment deal could be, a report from The Athletic offers plenty of fresh information regarding the likelihood of a deal happening.
First, it is said that, while Tottenham were one of the clubs to oppose Staveley and the Saudi Public Investment Fund’s takeover at Newcastle, both Staveley and Daniel Levy are now thought to have a positive relationship built on respect.
The pair worked together on the Premier League’s Financial Controls Advisory Group, and that collaboration is believed to have really helped bring them closer together.

Where is Staveley’s investment coming from?
Much has been said about how much money Staveley actually has, and what her prospective investment could look like. The general consensus is that she does not have enough funds on her own, and would merely spearhead a consortium-led minority takeover at Spurs.
However, The Athletic claim that, while this would be the initial plan, any fund she leads would eventually be looking to take a majority stake in “big assets” and Staveley herself would be keen to take a “hands-on” approach with her next project.
Apparently, Staveley’s plans to put together a new investment package have “picked up pace” of late, with funds coming from the Middle East and the USA.
The club thinks this is just noise
Whether this will come to anything remains to be seen. Tottenham Hotspur has been in a similar position a number of times before in the last few years, and as it stands, the club is of the opinion that this is “just noise about nothing”.
But, we know Levy himself is open to investment, and this is arguably the strongest, most convincing development in that process we’ve seen to date.
