Daniel Levy looks to send a media message with this action

Tottenham Hotspur take on Borussia Dortmund in their round of 16 second leg tonight, the second time Spurs have reached this position in the last two seasons.

Last time out the second leg fell at Wembley against Juventus, with Tottenham taking the away goals advantage into the tie.

However, the Lilywhites ended up losing it late on, 4-3 on aggregate, sending them crashing out of the competition despite a valiant effort.

At the time, Pochettino was keen to point out that Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli and director of football Pavel Nedved were on the Wembley pitch for training the day before the match.

Agnelli was also stood at the back of the pre-match press conference, and was in the tunnel during the match itself.

Poch went on to imply that Daniel Levy should be carrying out the same tactics to make a statement, after accusing Agnelli of influencing the referee.

Fast forward a year, and Daniel Levy was on the pitch for training the day before Tottenham’s second leg.

After the Juve game a year ago, Poch said (Standard): “It’s about small details that count a lot in this type of game.

“When you’re going to win, you need help from everyone. I’m not saying Daniel needs to be there [in the tunnel]. But before the game, Agnelli was there and after the game was Agnelli.”
