Daniel Levy provides comment to Italian media outlet on Tottenham’s managerial search

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy reportedly gave comment to the Italian media yesterday afternoon involving Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a new head coach.

Reports emerged yesterday afternoon that the club pulled the plug on their plans to appoint Paulo Fonseca and instead had turned their attention to Gennaro Gattuso, who had left Fiorentina this week following a 23-day stint at the Serie A club.

Fonseca was said to have been left ‘shocked’ by Tottenham’s decision to walk away having been expected to be announced next week (The Telegraph).

Fans have this morning been waking up to the news that Tottenham will not be looking to proceed with the appointment of Gattuso as the man to replace Jose Mourinho (The Athletic).

Levy was asked to comment on the managerial search following the speculation involving Gattuso emerged insisting that the club have been linked with numerous managers and nothing is final until the club make an announcement.

He told TuttoMercatoWeb: “We never comment on rumours. We’ve been linked with 30 different coaches in the last period. Until we make an announcement it’s just speculation. Gattuso? Of course, him too,”
