The Danish Football Association have today provided an update on the condition of Christian Eriksen, following yesterday’s traumatic scenes which reverberated around the world.
Eriksen collapsed during Denmark’s Europe 2020 opening fixture against Finland in Copenhagen when he fell to the ground during a throw-in, shortly before the end of the first half.
The match was suspended following prolonged efforts from the medical staff to resuscitate Eriksen with CPR and a defibrillator, while his team-mates and wife watched on.
The Danish talisman, who has more than 100 caps for his country, moved to Serie A giants Inter Milan in January of last year after seven years with Tottenham Hotspur .
The Danish FA confirmed that they have spoken to the playmaker earlier this morning who has passed on a message to his team-mates and with his condition stable, will remain in hospital to undergo further tests.
It was revealed that the Danish players and staff have received special support following the incident and encouraged fans from around the world to send on their well-wishes to the 29-year-old.
