Danish international interests Spurs

Tottenham are interested in signing Werder Bremen World Cup bound midfielder Thomas Delaney, according to reports in Germany.

The Denmark international has made 26 appearances in the Bundesliga so far this season, scoring twice and adding two assists.

He joined Werder Bremen from FC Copenhagen in 2017 after making over 200 appearances for the Danish club and according to German publication Bild the 26-year-old’s dream is to the play in the Premier League and that Spurs are interested in buying him this summer.

The report suggests Tottenham would have to pay around €15 million (£13.18m) for Delaney and it is believed Bremen must sell players before bringing in new recruits this summer having already spent a large percentage of their budget.

We could take advantage of the German club’s situation by signing Delaney for a relatively low cut price by the modern market’s standards.

It’s been widely speculated we are on the lookout for a long-term Mousa Dembele replacement – perhaps Delaney could fill that role.
