Danny Rose asked to predict whether Harry Kane will leave Tottenham or not

When appearing on JOE’s YouTube channel recently, former Tottenham Hotspur man Danny Rose made a prediction as to whether Harry Kane will stay at the club or not.

Kane has been with Tottenham for his entire career now, aside from a handful of loan spells in his early years. The 29-year-old has racked up 418 appearances for the club, with 267 goals to his name (Transfermarkt).

He has firmly established himself as a club legend now, and is Tottenham’s all-time top goalscorer after breaking Jimmy Greaves’ record recently (GOAL).

With just under 18 months left on his current contract, there is increasing speculation that Kane may leave Spurs in the summer. The player has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United of late (Sky Sports).

It remains to be seen whether Kane will stick or twist, and a lot will naturally depend on the way the rest of the season goes for Spurs. Speaking on the topic of his former teammate, Danny Rose posited Kane may not be a Spurs player for much longer.

He said: “It doesn’t matter what I think but what we’ve all heard him say is he wants to win something and I do bank on him going on to beat Alan Shearer’s record. But if he is to stay at Spurs and he beats Shearer’s record everyone will say: ‘well Shearer won the Premier League.'”

“I just hope he has something to show for all those goals he has scored for Spurs. But for me as long as Harry sees progression at the club I wouldn’t be surprised if he stays.

“But going off how things are at the club at the moment, being a bit inconsistent in the league, I wouldn’t be surprised if Harry was to go.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s so hard to predict what will happen with Kane. Personally, I think he’s missed his chance to move on and will be stuck with us whether he likes it or not, but that might be a bit of wishful thinking, too. Regardless, if we finish in the top four, he should be happy to stay anyway.
