Danny Rose named on the Football Black List for influential impact

Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose may not have been performing highly on the pitch, but he has been honoured with an inclusion on the Football Black List.

This initiative celebrates the most influential black people in British football and was founded in 2008 by Leon Mann and Rodney Hinds.

This year, Danny Rose, Raheem Sterling, Eni Aluko, Sadio Mane, and Anita Asante were named under the Cyrille Regis players list.

In terms of administration, the CEO of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, Sarah Ebanja, also made the Football Black List.

Sky Sports report that Danny Rose was named on the list for raising awareness about mental health issues in football.

The list is decided by a panel of representatives from the FA, Premier League, PFA, League Managers Association, EFL, and Kick It Out.

Danny Rose opened up about his personal battle with depression last year after dealing with a tragedy in his life and dealing with some tough times at Tottenham (Guardian).

Well done, Danny. A credit to footballers everywhere.
