Danny Rose names the best player he’s played with at Spurs – Not Bale or Modric

Some Spurs fans were relieved to see the back of Danny Rose after the defender joined Newcastle United on loan for the remainder of the season.

Rose’s form this season has left a lot to be desired and there were even reports that the defender had fallen out with Jose Mourinho (Daily Mail).

So, while the defender’s exit didn’t come as a massive surprise to many, it was still the end of an era of sorts for the club with Rose being the longest-serving senior player.

The defender, who joined from Leeds in the summer of 2007, was part of some good teams at the club and played with some top players over the past twelve and a half years.

He has seen the club’s rise from a midtable team to Champions League regulars and so it was very interesting indeed when the defender was quizzed on the best player he’s played with.

When asked to name the best he’s played with, the England international told Newcastle’s official YouTube channel: “I’ve played with the likes of Luka Modric. There’s also Harry Kane. But if I had to pick one it would be Moussa Dembele. Honestly, he’s unreal.”

It is no coincidence that our form in the Premier League started deteriorating a year ago after Dembele left the club. The Belgian’s unique skill set ensured that we almost always ended up winning the midfield battle against opposition teams. We still haven’t completely recovered from his loss.
