Danny Rose has wished Jose Mourinho and Tottenham the best of luck for the rest of the season and has said that he will look out for the club’s results.
The left-back departed Tottenham last month to join Newcastle United on loan for the remainder of the season.
There were even reports that Rose had fallen out with the Spurs boss over not being included in the matchday squad against Watford last month (Daily Mail) with his departure hardly coming as much of a surprise.
Since leaving, the experienced defender has said that he didn’t feel he got the opportunities he deserved after Mourinho arrived at the club (Independent), a claim that the Spurs boss was quick to disagree with (Football.London).
Some Spurs fans didn’t like the fact that Rose was still criticising the club publically after leaving.
However, the England international has now insisted that he is now more accepting of how things ended for him at Spurs.
Speaking to Sky Sports News (22/02/20 at 2:15 pm), Rose said: “Everything comes to an end at some point and you have to bear that in my mind. It’s not the first time I have had a manager come in and not play me. It happens throughout your career.
“You just have to make sure you remain professional, you just try to be as positive as possible because it’s not an individual game, it’s a team game. It’s probably something I saw coming as soon as Mauricio lost his job.
“I wish Jose the best of luck. I wish Tottenham the best of luck. I hope they get into the top four this season and do well in the FA Cup. Obviously, I will look out for their results.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I am in the minority of Spurs fans who will remember Rose fondly for his time at the club but I also believed that we did the right thing but moving him on. I wish the defender gets back to his best at Newcastle and gets into the England squad for the Euros.
