Danny Rose singles out the Spurs player who is set for a bright future

Danny Rose believes Tanguy Ndombele will be a big player for Tottenham in the coming years.

The defender, who completed a loan move to Newcastle United last month, has lavished praise on the midfielder.

Ndombele arrived in North London in the summer for a club-record fee of £55.45m plus add ons (Guardian), but experienced a frustrating start to life at his new club.

A string of niggling injuries have prevented the 23-year-old from getting a consistent run in the side.

Ndombele has shown glimpses of his quality in a few cameos in recent weeks but still doesn’t look fit enough to complete all ninety minutes, with Jose Mourinho admitting as much before the FA Cup fourth round replay against Southampton on Wednesday (Football.London).

Rose who has been critical of the club in the past for their lack of big-name signings, credited the club for managing to sign the French international last summer (The Sun).

Speaking to BBC 5 Live Sport (as relayed by the Evening Standard), Rose said: “The signings the club did make this season, like [Tanguy] Ndombele – give it time but he’s one for the future. He’s awesome.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Ndombele seems to be a popular member of the changing room and all the first team players seem to recognise his quality. Let’s hope he slowly builds up his fitness and establishes himself as a regular in the side before the end of the season. Like many Spurs fans, I am eagerly waiting to see the Frenchman play in a three-man midfield alongside Winks and Lo Celso.
