Darren Anderton singles out the player he would love to see at Tottenham

Darren Anderton believes that PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot would be an ideal fit at Tottenham Hotspur.

The French international is out of contract with the Ligue 1 champions this summer and has previously been linked with a move to Spurs (Calcio Mercato).

Rabiot has not kicked a ball in competitive football in 2019 after being placed in exile by PSG. after refusing to sign a new contract (Daily Mail).

He is a typical box to box midfielder, something which Spurs have been short of since the departure of Mousa Dembele to China in January which has put added strain on both Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks.

Former Spurs midfielder, Anderton rates Rabiot highly and feels that his style of play would perfectly complement Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Anderton told SportingBet: “Rabiot would be a fantastic addition to the Tottenham team, but he is going to have his pick of most top clubs,” added Anderton.

“Rabiot is a top draw player, if he came to Spurs, he would fit in with the way that Spurs play very easily.

“He has got so much ability, so much awareness. He passes the ball beautifully. He is a player I really rate and would love to see at the club.”

Opinion

Rabiot would be a fantastic signing for Tottenham, especially on a free transfer. However, with some of Europe’s big guns also holding an interest it will be difficult for the club to try and compete with the wages that some will offer Rabiot.
