Darren Bent questions whether Spurs star would make Man City’s starting eleven

Darren Bent has questioned whether Heung-min Son would get into Manchester City’s starting eleven while Harry Kane would walk into Pep Guardiola’s team.

Kane and Son have both been in brilliant form so far this season, with the Spurs pair universally recognised as two of the best players across the Premier League.

The pair have shattered a long-standing record by combining for 14 goals in the league this season, the most ever in a single Premier League campaign.

However, Tottenham have been accused of being over-reliant on the duo, with some pundits even suggesting that the North Londoners are an average squad without Kane and Son.

Spurs fans would be hoping that both forwards would finish their careers at the club but some reports have suggested that their futures could depend on whether or not they manage to get back into the Champions League.

Between Kane and Son, Bent believes that the England captain is more valuable to Spurs since he is capable of getting into any side in the world.

The former Tottenham man told talkSPORT’s Kick Off: “I’m a big fan as well, but if you signed Son would he go into Manchester City’s starting 11.

“I think Kane is the best player at Spurs. He walks into City’s team.

“I think he’s a better all round player than Son. I think Son is good, but when you talk about Kane he can do everything.

“This season he has added assists to his game and one thing you want to guarantee when they play centre forward is goals and with Kane he definitely does that.”

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that Kane is more valuable to Spurs than Son. Going by the speculation over recent weeks, the England captain looks the more likelier of the two to leave in the summer. Should we lose Kane in the summer, that could create doubts in Son’s mind about committing his future to the club.
