Darren Bent suggests West Ham player would be a good fit for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur’s defensive frailities have ended up costing them dearly this season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have on more than one occasion been unable to hold onto a lead after going ahead against Bayern Munich, Leicester City, Arsenal and Olympiacos but failed to win any of the matches.

They have conceded ten goals in their last two matches following the defeats against Bayern and Brighton.

The futures Tottenham’s central defensive duo, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld at the club remain in douby with the pair both out of contract at the end of the current campaign.

Former Spurs striker Darren Bent believes that West Ham United defender Issa Diop would be a good addition if Mauricio Pochettino decided to dip into the transfer market.

When asked what Premier League centre-backs could benefit Spurs if signed, Bent told Football Insider: “Obviously listen if they could get him in from West Ham, Diop.

“That’s not a bad shout.”

It was reported by Football Insider that Spurs are keeping tabs on Wolves defender Willy Boly as a potential addition with the club continuing to review their central defensive options.
