Data reveals how much money Tottenham earn from the average fan on matchday

According to new data on matchday spending from the 2021/22 season, Tottenham Hotspur brought in the most money per fan per match of all the Premier League teams.

Since the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opened its doors in 2019, Spurs have gradually become more and more of a commercial behemoth in the world of football.

The state-of-the-art venue is regarded as one of the best in the game, and it’s safe to say the development has allowed Spurs to climb the footballing ladder when it comes to revenue each year.

Indeed, according to the annual report from Deloitte, Tottenham are now the eighth richest club in the world, surpassing London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

Regardless of the many criticisms thrown his way, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has undoubtedly done a great job in building the club’s reputation from a business point of view over these last few years.

Spurs fans spend the most money on matchday

Further proof of the club’s economic success can be found in the latest data from financial expert Kieran Maguire, who reveals Spurs fans spent the most money on matchdays of any Premier League club in the 2021/22 season.

On average, Tottenham fans spent £71.23 per match at the stadium, while their nearest competitors, Manchester United, had fans spending £64.27 per game, and Chelsea fans shelling out an average of £62 exactly.

Arsenal (£59.05 per match) and Liverpool (£51.49) are the only other two teams who came close to that top group, with Manchester City next in the list, way back at an average spend of £36.24 per game.

Does this mean Tottenham have expensive snacks, or simply that fans enjoy spending their money at the stadium? Either way, it’s good news for the club as a business, and just shows how financially stable the club is as a whole, from top to bottom.
