David Villa is putting thoughts about his future to one side until after this summer’s Confederations Cup.
The Barcelona forward has been heavily linked with a summer switch to Tottenham, but is still happy with life at the Catalan giants. The 31-year-old has not consistently featured this season for Barca after recovering from a broken leg.
Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked with Villa, with the press putting a valuation of between £10million to £12million on his head, depending on which paper you read. Reading various Spurs forums and Twitter, Spurs fans seem mixed on opinion on whether he would be a good addition to our strikeforce.
He said in the Spanish press: “I always try to think of the present. I will go to the Confederations Cup and try to play a good role there.
“We’ll need to analyse many things during the summer and then we’ll see. Right now I’m not thinking about anything else than playing football.”
He added: “I have a contract with Barca and I’ve always said that I’m very happy here.”
