Bolton striker Kevin Davies has become the latest player to label Tottenham as a long ball team.

“We played some good stuff in this one. We’re still labelled a certain way,” Davies told The Sun.

“But Tottenham played a lot of long balls into Crouchy, he’s a good weapon.

“I just felt the roles were reversed a bit today.”

“We’ve lost the home advantage but we’ve proved we can outplay them. The amount of chances we created gives us hope,” he added.

“We’ll go down there and give it a good go. We’re still in the hat.”

  1. THIS VIEW AND COMMENT BY DAVIES IS NOT ONLY SOUR GRAPES BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WIN BUT HE THOUGHT THEY SHOULD HAVE PICKED UP WERE THEY LEFT OFF FROM THE FIRST HALF , HARRYS BOLLOCKING AT THE HALF TIME PERIOD BROUGHT OUT A DIFFERENT SPURS TEAM A PENALTY MISS HITTING THE CROSS BAR TWICE OUT PLAYING BOLTON IN THE SECOND HALF WAS THE TRUE SPURS WHO WERE AWOL IN THE FIRST PERIOD AND TO ACCUSE SPURS OF LONG BALL PLAYING IS TOTAL COCK ! ! !

  2. Bit of a misleading headline me thinks, but anyway who cares what Kevin ‘why don’t I ever get picked for England?’ Davis says or thinks?

  3. Davies took his shot well, but it was an incredibly soft goal to let in.
Corluka stuck a dainty little foot out, in half hearted manner.
A proper attempt to block Davies’ shot wouldn’t have gone amiss.
When you see some of the blocking gone on at other teams, with players hurling themselves in front of shots, it makes me wonder why the hell the likes of Corluka can’t be bothered.

  4. Yeah I think not, ball always pumped to him to try and foul and get away with it, finished his chance well, we were played off the pitch in 1st half but then played them off park in 2nd half only difference is our quality created better chances than they got in 1st half, is it just me or do we always seem to catch refs on bad days, what was story with Bentley not being allowed back on in time in build up to their goal, he could have stopped long cross field ball from Robinson

  5. In all fairness we do play a lot more direct when Crouch is in the team, which would be ok if he did something with it once in a while – bar climb all over defs, commit fouls, miss-hit or put too much/too little on a knock on. Thing is, he’s actually very good with the ball at his feet. Dawson has a habit of hoofing the ball too – always has. And whilst Bale played incredibly well going forward I do think he played a part in Modric’s terrible performance – often leaving the Croatian without a fb behind him. Are tactics are obvious too, team selections can be guessed a week in advance – it’s no wonder we’re not setting the league alight at the moment. Lennon will help when he’s back but if any manager takes note of Mick McCarthy’s tactic (in the first game) we could be in trouble there too. Still been a good season for us though with a lot of excitement. Just hoping that Man Utd win the Carling Cup so that we have an extra euro place to fight for. Europe is only top 5 via league isn’t it?
