Davinson Sanchez labels this Spurs man ‘one of the best in the world’

Tottenham Hotspur were far from their best against Leicester City yesterday, but still managed to secure a 3-1 win.

This skill to grind out a result despite not playing at your best is something Spurs have acquired in a big way this season, hence why they are still in the hunt for the title.

Tottenham are currently without Harry Kane and Dele Alli as goal threats, and are therefore having slightly less of the ball, and coming under more defensive pressure.

In times like these, it is important to have a strong defence, and a keeper at the top of his game.

While the Spurs back four was creaky at best yesterday, they certainly had a world class shot stopper between the sticks.

If not for Hugo Lloris, Spurs surely would have dropped points against the former Premier League champions.

The Frenchman saved a Jamie Vardy penalty, and a Barnes one-on-one to keep Spurs’ lead intact through the 90 minutes, as well as pulling off some other fine work.

Davinson Sanchez labelled him as one of the best in the world after the final whistle.

He said (Tottenham site): “We knew that before, he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and that’s the reason he’s our captain.”
