Davinson Sanchez’s agent provides update about his future at Tottenham

Davinson Sanchez’s agent, Néstor Villarreal has been talking about the central defender’s future at Tottenham Hotspur.

Sanchez is currently yet to link up with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side following his involvement with Colombia at Copa America, in which they finished in third place.

The 25-year-old is expected to spend the next few days with family before reporting back for duty at Hotspur Way next week.

Sanchez was linked with a move to Sevilla earlier this week after Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported claimed earlier this week that Spurs had agreed on a fee of around €30m (£25.6m) plus Davinson Sanchez with Sevilla for Jules Kounde.

Sevilla have since dismissed claims that they have been holding talks with Tottenham over a potential deal (Estadio Deportivo).

Villarreal, who also represents Atalanta forward Duván Zapata claimed that while Sanchez is happy at Tottenham, they are currently working on things in the background and should a suitable offer be made, he could leave the club.

He told Colombian news outlet Gol Caracol: “Dávinson and Duván [Zapata] are working on some things, looking to see if something comes. The two are calm where they are. They have a contract, if something better comes, they will leave or else they will stay. They are without a problem there.”

Sanchez experienced a difficult season under Jose Mourinho during the previous campaign and has failed to progress season-after-season since joining from Ajax. With the fee that the Colombian would likely generate, it is easy to see why he could be sacrificed to generate funds for other transfer targets.
