With the transfer window closing in under seven days, it is likely to be a week filled full of twists and turns where Tottenham Hotspur are concerned.
News broke yesterday evening when it was claimed by Sky Sports that Tottenham have begun talks with Sporting Lisbon for their prolific midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
Spurs officials jetted out to Lisbon to open discussions with the Portuguese club.
The 24-year-old is being considered as a potential transfer alternative to Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso, who the Spanish outfit value at around £68million (Telegraph).
According to the report, Daniel Levy is only prepared to part with a fee in the region of £55million to land either Lo Celso or Fernandes which would be hardly surprising if neither player has made the move to North London hours before the transfer window closes given the Spurs chairman’s reputation to take negotiations down to the wire.
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social media to react to the latest transfer developments.

They're demanding the same money as Betis are for Lo Celso so it doesn't make any sense

Levy needs to pull his finger out and give Poch the players he wants. Levy probably going back to doing the usual leave it until last minute in the hope to get a player on the cheap all that does is mess up the preparation and takes longer for the player to settle.

Fernandes is a better option for us, I've said it from the start Bruno over Lo Celso please. Both if Levy wants to have a better chance of winning the CL and the Prem ??

We want both… then we can afford to rest Eriksen when he goes missing in big games
