De Zerbi provides positive Tottenham injury update on Maddison and Solanke for Everton clash

Roberto De Zerbi has delivered the latest injury news update on his Tottenham team ahead of a crucial Premier League clash against Everton.

It all comes down to the final day of the season for Tottenham Hotspur, as their Premier League status remains undecided.

A poor showing at Stamford Bridge saw the Lilywhites suffer their 17th defeat of the campaign and pass up their chance of securing safety with a game to spare, after West Ham United fell short against Newcastle United.

That now leaves Spurs in the same position they were in before – two points clear of the Hammers and needing a point or three to secure their safety.

Tottenham injury latest ahead of Everton clash: James Maddison and Dominic Solanke available

Roberto De Zerbi has rightfully described the upcoming match against Everton as the biggest in Tottenham’s recent history, even bigger than the Europa League final, and with relegation a real possibility, it is hard to argue against that.

Tottenham fans will surely be out in their numbers to ensure their side is fully motivated when they take to the pitch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, urging the team on to at least a draw.

Coming into this encounter, the Italian does not have much to worry about in terms of injuries, and that is a major boost for Spurs. As it stands, the usual names remain absent, with Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert, Cristian Romero, Ben Davies, Mohammed Kudus and Dominic Solanke all sidelined.

Guglielmo Vicario was the latest player to leave the treatment table last matchweek and even made the matchday squad.

Spurs Web has since revealed that Romero is progressing in his recovery from a knee injury, with the defender now doing outdoor work.

Meanwhile, last week in his pre-match conference, De Zerbi hinted that Solanke could also return, although it remains touch-and-go.

Tottenham will be hoping to get all the help they can get as they take on Everton. Ahead of the clash, De Zerbi has now provided an update on his Spurs squad.

Speaking to football.london he said: “Solanke is available for tomorrow. We have to decide if he starts in the first XI or not.

“James Maddison is available. It’s always tough to decide before the game how many minutes he can play. Of course he’s a different player, a top player for us, but we have to analyse the physical condition with this Italian weather.”
