Some Spurs fans on social media have reacted positively to reports that the club are about to complete a move for Joe Hart.
The 33-year-old has been a free agent since his contract with Burnley ran out back in June.
The former England number one has had quite a fall from grace recently, as he failed to make the expected impact on his return to the Premier League, following his loan spell with Torino.
The Evening Standard today revealed that Jose Mourinho wants to bring the former Premier League winner to North London to replace Michel Vorm, who departed along with Jan Vertonghen last month following the expiration of his deal.
The report claims that Hart is currently undergoing a medical at Hotspur Way ahead of putting pen to paper on a contract.
Some Spurs fans on social media believe that the deal makes perfect sense for the club as the former Manchester City shot-stopper ticks a number of boxes including being homegrown.
They backed the experienced goalkeeper to serve as a valuable voice in the Spurs dressing room:
Homegrown, proven experience, third choice keeper. Why not 😁

The fact that some people don’t understand that signing Joe Hart allows us to sign more foreign players proves how clueless they are. He’ll be the third string keeper & counts towards the homegrown quota.

Joe Hart as our 3rd choice keeper:
2x Premier League winner 🏆
3x League Cup winner 🥇
1x FA Cup winner 🎖4x Golden Glove winner 🧤
3x PFA Team Of the Season 🎯75 England Caps 🏴
Yet people still complain… pic.twitter.com/ggUwtOW63D

Don’t mind Joe Hart joining Spurs. We know he won’t be playing much and he’s only here to replace Vorm + fills the HG quota. Low wages and not a risk signing at all. Brings a lot experience to the squad which will hopefully help us. #THFC

Joe Hart is pretty decent back-up keeper, at 33, still has a few years ahead of him as a Goalkeeper… Decent business

Third choice homegrown free premier league winner joe hart doesn’t sound too bad

I dont see what the problem is with signing Joe Hart as 3rd choice goalkeeper. He is homegrown so fills a square, he is experienced, has won things which is a very low commodity in that Spurs squad. We need people who have been there and done it 2 bring a different mentality

Right, so I've just woken up to see we're signing Joe Hart? And is it bad that I genuinely think he's a decent signing for us?

Trust me Scott Carson to Chelsea or lee grant to United was a lot weirder than joe hart to Spurs 😂

Spurs Web Opinion
Not only are we getting a competent third choice keeper who can step in and do a job if needed but we are also getting a leader, who will bring a winning mentality with him. In fact, I am pretty sure that Hart’s influence off the pitch is one of the main reasons Mourinho wanted to bring him to Spurs.
