‘Decision has been made’ – Fabrizio Romano delivers update on Ruslan Malinovskyi

Ruslan Malinovskyi will not be on the move in the final hours of the transfer window, according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

The Atalanta midfielder was reported to have been hopeful of joining Tottenham Hotspur before the window slams shut later this evening (CalcioMercato).

Romano has revealed that Atalanta president Antonio Percassi has decided that the Ukrainian international should remain at the club despite being in the last twelve months of his contract.

Ligue 1 outfit Marseille had also been heavily linked with the 29-year-old, with the player said to have rejected the French club’s first salary offer (Foot Mercato).

Some Spurs fans will be scratching their head over why the club have not brought in an attacking midfielder during the window, with Antonio Conte’s side having looked short of ideas in the final third of the pitch in more than one game this season.

Tottenham on occasions are still too heavily reliant on Harry Kane dropping deep to try to pull the strings, when there is no option on the bench to look to change things up when needed.
