Defender linked with Manchester United/Tottenham swap

The past summer was filled with talk of one defender changing hands between Tottenham Hotspur and Man United, namely Toby Alderweireld.

The Red Devils were also interested in Danny Rose at one stage, but both players remained in North London, and have fought their way back into the first team.

However, on the other side of things, Manchester United centre half Eric Bailly is struggling to earn game time under Jose Mourinho, and reports suggest that he could look for a move away from Old Trafford in January.

The Mirror reports that both Tottenham and Arsenal are interested in signing up the ex-Villarreal man, who has under 2 years left on his contract.

This could bolster the centre back position for Spurs, who currently have only Davinson Sanchez as a back up to regular starters on the pitch.

Juan Foyth is still out injured and Carter-Vickers was sent out on loan.

Could Bailly be a good purchase for Spurs?
