Jean-Clair Todibo, who is thought to have emerged as a target for Tottenham Hotspur over recent days, has admitted that he now feels he is ready to play for one of Europe’s elite clubs.

Todibo spent a couple of years at Barcelona when he was a teenager but he struggled to get much of a look in at the time for the Catalan giants.
However, the defender has come on leaps and bounds since moving to Nice in 2020 and is now widely considered to be one of the best centre-backs in the division, having been capped twice by Les Blues.
A couple of days ago, GFFN reported that Tottenham are set to reignite their interest in the Frenchman after failing to get a deal over the line for him in January.
The report explained that Nice did not want to let the defender go mid-season and put a €60m (£51.1m) price tag on him at the time but he is now expected to be available for just €40m (£34m), which has piqued Spurs’ interest.
The outlet added that Ange Postecoglou’s men will face plenty of competition for the centre-back, with Man Utd, Juventus and AC Milan also eyeing moves for the player.

Jean-Clair Todibo is ready for a big move
Todibo has now said that he is much better prepared to play on the biggest stage, given the experiences he has had at the Allianz Riviera over the last few years.
He told The Telegraph: “It’s been good for me because I have learned different cultures and worked with different coaches. So now I think I have more weapons. I am more prepared about big things. I think my mind is more ready to be at a big club and it has, for sure, made me a better player.
When asked about the speculation linking him with the likes of Spurs and Man Utd, Todibo responded: “Honestly I don’t want to talk about [my future] because of my respect for the fans here and the club also. But we had a little discussion, for sure.”

With Tottenham only after a fourth-choice centre-back, I cannot see the club shelling out around £40m on Todibo. The Lilywhites will likely prefer a cheaper and homegrown alternative to the Frenchman.
